This Privacy Policy explains how WooWay LLC handles information in connection with UBee. We are a privacy-first service: we collect as little as possible and never sell your data.
Information we collect
- Account information — your email and sign-in identifier (via Firebase Authentication).
- Profile — display name, avatar, and an optional "About me."
- Hometown and current location — self-reported and manually entered (country → region → city). We do not use GPS or track your device location.
- Content — messages, posts ("Moments"), and group activity you create.
- Limited technical data — device and log data needed for security, abuse prevention, and reliability.
How we use information
To connect you with hometown-based communities near you, operate core features (chat, Moments, friends, groups), keep the service safe, and communicate with you. We do not use your data for third-party advertising.
Legal bases
Where required (e.g., EEA/UK), we process data to perform our contract with you, for legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, to comply with law, and with your consent where applicable.
How we share information
With service providers acting on our behalf (e.g., hosting), and when required by law or to protect safety. We report child sexual abuse material to NCMEC. We do not sell personal information.
Retention and security
We keep information only as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations, and we use technical and organizational measures to protect it.
Your rights and choices
You can access, correct, export, or delete your data, including in-app account deletion. To make a request, contact [email protected]. We respond within the timeframes required by applicable law (e.g., GDPR 30 days / CCPA 45 days).
