Open-source software and data that help power UBee.

UBee uses open-source software and openly licensed creative assets. This page provides the attributions those licenses require, and — for completeness — also credits assets whose licenses (such as CC0) do not strictly require attribution. It covers both the UBee mobile apps and this website.

Avatars (DiceBear)

Profile avatars are generated on-device with DiceBear. The DiceBear software is licensed under the MIT License. Each avatar style is the work of an independent artist under its own license; all avatars rendered in UBee are remixes/adaptations of the original works listed below, generated programmatically from a seed. We gratefully credit every artist.

City, region, and place names are derived from the GeoNames geographical database, licensed under CC BY 4.0.
Country names, in every language UBee offers, come from the Unicode Common Locale Data Repository (CLDR) 48.2.0, Copyright © 2004–2026 Unicode, Inc., used under the Unicode License v3, whose notice follows. UBee uses CLDR’s own short forms for Hong Kong, Macau and Palestine, and writes two names itself: 臺灣 (Taiwan, in Traditional Chinese) and Eswatini (in Tagalog).
Country search also accepts the country names from the library UBee used before this change, so people still find a country by a name they know. That library is i18n-iso-countries 7.14.0, Copyright © 2016 widdix GmbH, used under the MIT License, whose notice follows the Unicode one.
